Church re-opening

Hello all Barlaston church family & friends,

We are delighted to be able to announce that we can begin to start re-opening the church, following Government and Church of England guidelines. The PCC Standing Committee had a Zoom meeting this week and planned for the future.

It has been a long wait, and in many ways it is going to be a little strange going back to church, it will not be as it was before lockdown. We are currently allowed to have the church open for private prayer only.

The area of the building that we will be able to use is only the main church. The disabled toilet will be available. These areas will be closed: the office, upstairs office and bell tower, the lady chapel, choir vestry, toilets by the kitchen and the kitchen.

The church has been cleaned ready for us to enter and will be cleaned following each of the times the building is open.

The plan for reopening is as follows:

Wednesdays and Sundays from 10.30am-11.30am

starting on Wednesday 17th June.

The church will not be open at other times.

As you arrive at church you will notice that measures are in place for our safety. Please follow these instructions, only sit where you are allowed to. Social distancing needs to be maintained.

We have been grateful to those who have continued to support the church financially over the last months. There will be an offering plate available on Wednesdays and Sundays where you can place your financial gifts.

We hope to make the church as welcoming as possible in these circumstances. The flower arranging team will have a display, a few candles may be lit and quiet reflective organ music may be played on Sundays by Chris, our organist.

Psalm 100:3-5

Know that the Lord is God.
    It is he that made us, and we are his;
    we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
    and his courts with praise.
    Give thanks to him, bless his name.

For the Lord is good;
    his steadfast love endures forever,
    and his faithfulness to all generations.

Every blessing,

Dennis Croome (Churchwarden and Reader).
