New Update 18th October 2019

Hello Barlaston Church family,

I do hope that you are having a good week – at least it’s not raining so much!

Last Sunday at 10.30 was a great occasion as we welcomed children and families from Barlaston School to the morning worship. We all enjoyed the children’s singing and we look forward to the next joint service which will be on December 8th at 10.30 (missing November 10th as it is Remembrance and we’ll all be on the Village Green).

The Harvest Lunch last Tuesday was a lovely time and enjoyed by over 40 people. We especially thank the great ‘team’ who planned and delivered this village/church event: Ali Dando, Gill Brealey, Ann Barratt, Margaret Boggis, Michala Black and Kate Mathers. The next LUNCH is being planned for Tuesday 19th November - keep your eyes open for further details.

A note we received 'Hi guys - just a quickie to say huge congratulations on the success of the Harvest Lunch!'

Don’t forget tomorrow’s Food Packing Event with Feed the Hungry: Saturday 19th October 10.00am – 12.30pm at Barlaston School. Providing meals for children in Kibera, Kenya.

On Sunday 20th there are two services at church: 10.30 Holy Communion with the children’s Mosaic Group and at 4.00pm there will be Baptism service.

On Sunday evening - Stoke-on-Trent City Celebration – 20th October 6.00pm Longton Central Hall, The Strand ST3 2JH. This will be a great evening of worship and celebration.

You'll be pleased to know that new blinds and curtains have been ordered for the Kitchen and Vestry (may be we need to start referring to that space at the 'Church Lounge?' The carpet is due to be cleaned and we have quotes to refurbish the toilets. You may have noticed improved lighting too.

Do come along and support the NET Cancer Coffee Morning – Saturday 9th November – 10am to 1pm. Stalls, tombola at church.

Annual Thanksgiving Service – the service at which we remember all those who have passed away in recent years. Sunday 3rd November 4.00pm.
