Nestled in the welcoming village of Barlaston, just south of Stoke-on-Trent and 10 miles north of Stafford, our parish enjoys the charm of village life with the convenience of easy access to the M6.
We are a friendly, active church community seeking a Vicar who will lead us with faith, vision, and compassion as we continue to grow in Christ.
We are blessed with:
An enthusiastic and capable Ministry Team including 2 Churchwardens, 2 Readers, a PCC Secretary, Treasurer, and 2 Assistant Wardens
A supportive PCC of 12 dedicated members
A paid Organist and Choir Leader
MOSAIC, our lively children’s group meeting each Sunday
OASIS, a weekly coffee morning offering a warm welcome to the wider community
A modern, flexible church building—built just over 40 years ago and well suited to contemporary worship and community activities
We are looking for a Vicar who will:
Proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ through Bible-based, relevant, and inspiring preaching
Lead worship that is rooted in Scripture—reflective, thought-provoking, and equipping us to live out our faith daily
Nurture and extend discipleship opportunities for children, teenagers, and young adults, helping them to grow in faith
Encourage and develop the gifts and talents of the congregation in worship, pastoral care, and service to the community

Holy Communion services are held on Sundays and Wednesdays at 10.30am.
From September 2025, on the first Sunday of each month the service will be an ALL TOGETHER time of worship.

Oasis on Thursdays
Join us at Oasis every Thursday, throughout the school term. While you use the Church Park and drop your children at school, feel free to stop by Oasis at Barlaston Church for a complimentary coffee and chat. We open at 8:30am, so you can come in with your children before school and return later with your younger ones. It's a wonderful place to meet new and old friends, and to share your joys and concerns. Everyone is welcome – adults can drop in for a catch-up too!
Barlaston Bible Study on Tuesday evenings
What does the Bible mean for us today in 2025? Come and discover its relevance to your personal life and those of your friends who are seeking meaning and purpose. This group meets every Tuesday evening at 7:00pm.
Barlaston Church Mosaic Children’s Group
The Mosaic group is a fantastic opportunity for children to explore and deepen their faith in Jesus Christ. We meet every Sunday at 10:30am, providing a nurturing environment where children can learn and grow together. On the first Sunday of each month, Mosaic joins the entire church family for the All Together worship services, making it a special time for everyone. Parents, this is a wonderful chance for your children to make new friends, learn valuable life lessons, and be part of a supportive community. We look forward to welcoming you and your children from 7th September. Come and be a part of something meaningful and enriching!
Mid week Wednesday Holy Communion services
Every Wednesday at 10:30am, Barlaston Church holds a Holy Communion service. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to take a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life and enjoy a quiet, reflective time of worship. Parents, this serene service can be a peaceful moment in your week, offering a chance to recharge and find spiritual nourishment. We warmly welcome you to join us.
Sunday worship at St John the Baptist Church, Barlaston
Every Sunday at 10:30am, we hold a welcoming church service for everyone. On the first Sunday of each month, we celebrate with an All Together worship, where all ages come together to rejoice. On the other Sundays, we have a Communion service. Additionally, on the first and third Sundays of each month, you can enjoy the beautiful voices of the Church Choir in action! Parents, this is a wonderful opportunity for your family to be part of a warm and inclusive community. Bring your children along to experience the joy and fellowship of our church services.
